Leighton Was NOT Born in a Prison

Author: Sofia | Category: Leighton Meester News |

Some of you may know it, but most of the people don’t.  It really upsets me when I read in many websites that Leighton was born in a prison.

The truth is, her mother did get arrested, but she was permitted to stay in a halfway house for the labor and birth. When the baby got three months old, her mom was forced to go back to prison.  Leighton lived with her grandmother for a while and stayed with her mother in rehab.   She didn’t even knew about the whole thing until she was eight.

Nowadays, Leighton’s mother is a writer.

  2. Lana Says:

    Uhm.. Check your grammar!!!

  3. Camila Says:

Yeah, I know… but is good for who doesn’t. :)

  4. Sofia Says:

Screenplay. I’m really sorry, English is not my first language :/

She means the “when the baby got three months old,” should be like, when the baby turned three months old. And “She didn’t even knew about the whole thing” , should be she didn’t even know about the whole thing. But these mistakes don’t really make it hard to understand, they are minor mistakes.

But I completely understand, I’m english and HORRIBLE at french, so I understand how hard grammar can be in other languages.
You english is actually very good.

Sofia, first of all, thanks for the well-written article.

A note to all: Everyone should respect our writers. We all come from different background and some of us don’t speak English as our first language. Lots of respect to Sofia from LeightonMeesterNews.com for taking the time to write articles for all of us to read. :)

    xoxo

    Kat,
I think it’s ‘nice’ of you to ‘correct’ Sofia’s ‘minor mistakes’ but you might want to check your own submission.
Adjectives of origin (ie.English, French) should always be capitalised and by ‘You english is very good.’ did you mean ‘YOUR English is very good’? We all make mistakes.

Thanks for the great article, Sofia :) I think it’s great that
you have the confidence to write for other people, in a second language!

Hey, thanks for this. I know that a lot of people don’t know this. And don’t worry about your grammar, you’ll get better. And isn’t French kind of different from English grammar, anyway? At least she’s giving it a go, it really is quite scary putting up articles for everyone to read :)

  9. Sofia Says:

Aaah, thank you so much, guys =)It really means a lot to me !
I’ll pay more attention on the nexts posts, though.
